CITA Quarterly: Four Decades of Discovery and Building Community

If a single theme defined this quarter, it was鈥痗ommunity. At the end of May, we proudly celebrated CITA鈥檚 40th anniversary, bringing together over 160 participants in person and hundreds more online from across the globe. The three-day conference presented forward-looking astrophysics research but, just as much, it felt like a family homecoming.

The Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics is a nationally supported research centre located at the University of Toronto that is devoted to studying the origin and evolution of the universe, and the many wonderful phenomena revealed by modern astronomy. 聽We foster interaction within the community of astrophysicists through workshops and a constant flow of visitors. Distinguished alumni of our vibrant post-doctoral program are spread across Canada and the globe.
